Posh Plants & Curios Celebrates Opening in Downtown Barrington with Ribbon Cutting
(Barrington, IL – April 27, 2026) – The Barrington Area Chamber of Commerce welcomed Posh Plants & Curios with a ribbon cutting on Tuesday, April 14, celebrating the opening of a distinctive new retail and community space in downtown Barrington. Located at 122 E. Main St., above Posh Curls, the boutique introduces a thoughtfully curated environment centered around plants, home décor, and intentional design.
Owned by Annette Norwood and her son, Israel Cruz, Posh Plants & Curios offers more than a traditional retail experience. The shop brings together lush greenery, unique curios, and carefully selected décor pieces, all arranged within a distinctive dark, moody setting that enhances the overall experience. From sun-loving plants suited for bright windows to low-light varieties and air plants, the collection ranges from familiar favorites to tropical and rare finds, giving visitors options for every type of space and experience level.
Israel Cruz, co-owner and manager, brings a unique design perspective to the space, with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Interior Architecture from Columbia College Chicago. “We wanted to create something that feels different the moment you walk in,” said Cruz. “It’s not just about plants or décor, it’s about creating an environment where people can slow down, feel inspired, and take a piece of that feeling home with them.”
In addition to its retail offerings, Posh Plants & Curios is designed as a flexible community space. The boutique will host yoga sessions, pop-ups, and special events, while also offering the opportunity for individuals and groups to bring their own gatherings into the space. The concept reflects the owners’ vision of creating a place where connection, creativity, and shared experiences can naturally come together.
Annette Norwood, who also owns Posh Curls salon located on the main level of the building, has created a complementary extension of the Posh brand with this new venture. Together with her son, she has developed a space that reflects both personal style and a broader vision for community engagement in downtown Barrington.
Posh Plants & Curios is now open and invites the community to stop in, explore, and experience a space designed to inspire. Guests are encouraged to follow along on Instagram @poshplantsandcurios and visit poshplantscurios.com for updates on store hours, upcoming pop-ups, and events.
