There’s something about blasting the radio in your car as you drive down the street that simply makes you feel young and free. In your gusto for the song and the feeling, how many times do you realize you have the lyrics wrong?
Maybe you haven’t quite heard it right, or maybe you have just heard it so many times that this is simply how you choose to interpret it. Guilty of both. So I did some homework and came across a study that offered up some frequently misinterpreted lyrics.
“Sweet dreams are made of cheese,” – Annie Lennox. “We built this city on sausage rolls,” – Starship. “Money for nothing, chips for free,” – Dire Straits. “See that girl, watch her scream, kicking the dancing queen,” – ABBA. “I can see clearly now Lorraine is gone,” – Johnny Nash. “I wanna hold your ham,” – The Beatles. Sometimes we hear things differently and interpret things in our own way. Truly I am guilty of it….
