The Barrington Area Chamber of Commerce (BACC) hosts several Signature Events annually that bring together business and the community. Often these events are prime opportunities to networking, marketing your products and services to local residents and make strategic connections that can lead to business. Here are some highlights:
January 16: BACC Annual Dinner and Scholarship Fundraiser — Attend BACC’s annual celebration of new leadership, business awards and more. The Annual Dinner and Scholarship Fundraiser is our largest networking event of the year. Enjoy a delightful evening of dinner, entertainment, and silent auction featuring dozens of products, services, gift baskets, giveaways, gift certificates, spirits, sports memorabilia and other items benefiting the Lauren Brown Memorial Scholarship Fund that provides scholarships to local high school students. The event will be held at The Avante Banquet and Conference Center.
Legislative & Government Affairs Events — Get a state of the Barrington Region update from our community leaders; hear updates on developments that impact local businesses, and have the opportunity to address our local Mayors and Village Presidents at the Economic Summit on Wednesday, February 5. Learn more and engage with our community’s four taxing bodies and townships (Ela and Barrington) at The Public Town Hall Forum on Wednesday, April 22. Government Affairs Council. State leaders and Illinois law updates are shared with the public and local business owners at the Barrington Area Legislative Breakfast on Wednesday, October 7.
February 27 & September 17: Network to Success Scrambles — Meet and network with nearly 100 prospects and power market your business during this high-energy event! This 3-course progressive lunch seats you with nearly 30 different people, giving you the spotlight to educate potential new customers on your products and services. Sign up early, space is limited to no more than 4 professionals per industry, so several categories sell out early. Attendees get a full list of networkers and a chance to put something in the attendee goody bag!
April 5: Barrington Family Expo — A great family outing where you can showcase your business, products and services to hundreds of local residents. Co-hosted by Barrington 220 School District, the event features hands-on educational activities for all ages, local entertainment, food and beverages from local restaurants, free giveaways, and a chance to win a Barrington area shopping spree! Tabletops and booth display space is available. Our partnership with Barrington 200 gives us access to the families in our communities interested in learning more about your business resources. The event is held at Barrington High School.
April 23: Scholarship Luncheon — Our Scholarship Luncheon honors high school seniors who have been selected, through an application process, to receive the BACC Lauren Brown Memorial Scholarship. The event includes a delicious lunch, featured guest speaker, and presentation of the awards. Scholarships range from $500 to $1,500 and are given to students who will be attending a university, community college, or trade or vocational school. Senior students who attend Barrington High School or any high school senior of a BACC member are eligible to receive the scholarship award. Applications are available on the BACC website.
July 10: Uncork Barrington —This premier charitable wine-tasting event attracts over 900 people from the Barrington and Chicagoland areas to sample wines from around the world, enjoy live entertainment and support important community organizations. Uncork has become a Barrington-area tradition and is held under the stars on a Friday evening from 6:00 – 9:30 p.m. at the Barrington Metra Station-Tent Pavilion.
July 20: Barrington Golf Classic — Now in its 33rd year, the Chamber’s annual golf classic returns to the beautiful Club at Wynstone in North Barrington, attracting more than 200 players. All skill levels welcome. A great casual networking opportunity, as well as a relaxing outing with co-workers, friends and clients.
September 24: OWL Awards Luncheon — Each year the BACC Women’s Biz Net honors four Outstanding Women Leaders (OWLs) at an awards luncheon held at Biltmore Country Club in North Barrington. These women serve as role models professionally and in the community, and are recognized in four specific categories: Professional Excellence, Community Impact, Nonprofit Leadership, and Mentorship and Education.
October 21: Great Barrington Area TasteFest — Meet up with friends, enjoy live music, and sample dozens of signature dishes and spirits of the Barrington area’s finest restaurants, wineries, breweries and distilleries. Vote for your favorite taste, entree, spirit and dessert!
