Sunwellth Pilates Opens Its Doors, Bringing
“Pilates with a Purpose” to Barrington
(November 13, 2025) The Barrington Area Chamber of Commerce gathered with community and village representatives on Tuesday, November 11, to celebrate the ribbon cutting and grand opening of Sunwellth Pilates, located at 220 James St. in Barrington. Founded by April Cisneros, the new studio brings a distinctive and heartfelt mission to the community – Pilates with a Purpose.
Sunwellth Pilates offers a wide range of classes designed to meet the needs of all fitness levels, from beginner to advanced, as well as specialized sessions to promote healing and overall wellness. These include After Care Sessions for women following surgical procedures, Lymphatic Sessions for individuals experiencing inflammation or impaired lymphatic flow, and Rebound Sessions, which provide numerous physical and mental health benefits through low-impact movement.
As part of its mission, Sunwellth Pilates features a different local charity each month and donates a portion of proceeds to support their cause. Last month, the studio partnered with GiGi’s Playhouse, and this month’s featured organization is the Willow Creek Care Center. In addition, Cisneros offers Shine Sessions at no cost for special needs children and young adults.
“Sunwellth was built on the belief that movement and purpose can truly change lives,” said owner April Cisneros. “Pilates with a Purpose is about more than fitness – it’s about connection, compassion, and helping our community heal and thrive together.”
April Cisneros brings extensive experience and passion to her new venture. With over 30 years of ballet training, seven certifications, and a background in fitness, advocacy, consulting, and law, she has received multiple accolades, including the Presidential Volunteer Service Award (2011). She attended Roosevelt University and Northwestern University, earning three degrees and a certification. After being diagnosed with a life-threatening illness, April turned to Pilates and Rebounding as her primary form of fitness, an experience that deepened her commitment to helping others achieve balance, strength, and resilience through mindful movement.
