Marketing Assistant
Reports to: President / CEO
Part Time: 20 – 25 hours / week
Summary of Position:
The Marketing & Communications Assistant reports directly to the President/CEO and plays a key role in promoting the organization, supporting member engagement, and increasing visibility throughout the community. This position is responsible for creating marketing materials, promoting events to help achieve attendance and sponsorship goals, managing social media and digital communications, and assisting with general office operations.
The ideal candidate is creative, highly organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment where flexibility and initiative are essential. Strong writing skills, accuracy, and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously are critical to success in this role.
This position requires proficiency or willingness to learn programs including ChamberMaster, Constant Contact, Canva, ChatGPT and other AI-based resources, social media platforms, and website management tools.
Key Responsibilities
- Create brochures, flyers, graphics, newsletters, and other marketing materials for events, membership campaigns, networking groups, and organizational initiatives
• Promote and cover events by capturing photos and videos for social media, marketing, and promotional use
• Manage 2 weekly email newsletters, event communications, monthly calendars, and other digital communications
• Coordinate and manage eblast advertising sales and newsletter sponsorships, helping achieve monthly and annual revenue goals
• Manage and grow social media presence through consistent posting, audience engagement, event promotion, and new member welcome
• Write and distribute press releases, event notices, and organizational announcements
• Maintain and update website content, events, and information
• Assist with production and coordination of key publications including the regional magazine, community guide, maps, and promotional materials
• Provide support with general office responsibilities including answering phones, assisting walk-in visitors and members, and scheduling event registrations
• Attend ribbon cuttings, networking events, and community events as needed, including event setup, check-in, and attendee assistance
Qualifications
- Marketing and sales experience/communications degree
- Public Relations skills, publications experience and design creativity
- Social media marketing experience, strong computer skills, writing skills
Schedule & Availability
This is a part-time position averaging 20 – 25 hours per week. Flexibility is offered, but daytime availability is required.
