Awards Granted to Local High School Students Each Year
The Barrington Area Chamber of Commerce awards Lauren Brown Memorial scholarships each spring to local high school students pursuing higher education through a university,
community college, or vocational/trade certification program. Eligible students must be from the Barrington area, or the student of an employee at a Chamber member business.
Scholarships range from $500 to $1,500. There is no restrictions regarding race, religion,
nationality, sex or physical disability. Preference is given to Barrington High School students and
students of Chamber members; however many students have receive the awards through the years. We encourage you to apply!
To be eligible, this completed application and all supporting documents must be received by April 7, 2017. All supporting documents should be single-sided. Incomplete
applications will be disqualified. Please return the complete package to: Scholarship Committee, BACC, 190 E. James Street, Barrington, IL 60010. For more information, please call (847) 381-2525.
Only completed applications with required information will qualify for consideration. The scholarship is not based on financial need. The recipient of the award will be notified no later than April 7, 2017 and announced to Chamber members at the Spotlight on Barrington’s Stars event on April 19, 2017. The scholarship award will be made out directly to the recipient with documented acceptance at their school of choice. Recipients must be willing to have their name and photo used for publicity purposes.
